Help Richie Perfect His New (Hopefully Temporary ) Career as a Professional Bed Warmer

What Happened
On May 15th, our beloved friend Richie was sacked by a length of measuring twine from utility workers while commuting to work on his electric scooter. What was originally thought to be just a dislocated knee ended up being a tibial plateau fracture. Two surgeries later, Richie's newest additions to the metal fragments in his body now include two plates and 15 screws.

Who Richie & His Family Are
For those who haven't had the pleasure of knowing Richie or his family, he's the guy who once tapped out in a grappling tournament to his wedding officiant (who's half his size) during his Bachelor Party. He's also the loving and caring provider to his wife Sammi and their Irish twins under 3 years old - one of whom is highly autistic. He and Sammi are basically the human equivalent of a hard-boiled egg on the outside but secretly carry the hearts of a teddy bear when it comes to their family.

The Current Situation (Or: Richie's Unplanned Medical Vacation)
The accident has resulted in 4-6 weeks of bed rest before any consideration of starting physical therapy, and an estimated 6 months until he may fully be able to walk or stand again. The good news? His sense of humor is completely intact - his professionalism after years as a line cook has caused the hospital food ratings to drop even further, and he's currently researching options for starting his own utility company.
The not-so-good news? His recovery is going to take longer than it takes to binge-watch entire Netflix series, and the potential litigation for lost wages and pain-and-suffering from sheer boredom are still a few months out, as his potential mobility and recovery need to be established first. In the meantime, Sammi is shouldering the full responsibilities of taking care of both her husband and two feral toddlers while managing the family budget and her own personal sanity.

The Financial Reality (AKA: Why Being Able to Watch as Much TV or Play as Many Video Games Isn't as Fun as It Seems)
While Richie is handling this whole situation with his military-grade stubbornness and an impressive collection of mobility aids usually reserved for senior citizens, the living expenses and Sammi's stress levels are stacking up just as fast as the messes that their two toddlers make daily. We're talking about:
• Lost income (turns out, professional bed warming doesn't pay as well as his regular job)
• Home modifications/improvements so he can navigate his house without recreating his original accident
• Gas money for all those medical appointments (his new part-time job)
• The electricity & internet bill for all his gaming and streaming usage
• The water bill for filling all the ice packs he's consuming daily
• Groceries and daily expenses (because unfortunately, the hospital doesn't provide take-home meals, which Richie is perfectly content about)

Richie and Sammi have always prided themselves on being as self-sufficient and independent as possible, so asking for help is about as comfortable for them as trying to eat hospital food. But that's where we come in!

How You Can Be Part of the Forgue Family's Support Squad
Here's where you get to be the hero in this story! I'm rallying the troops (that's you) to help Richie & Sammi focus on what they do best - recovering from life's punches with style and probably making Richie's physical therapist laugh until they cry.

Every donation helps, whether you're contributing the cost of PB & Nutella sandwiches for the kids or a pre-made frozen lasagna that can be warmed up on Richie's smoker. Think of it as an investment in getting the Forgue Family back to their normal selves - you know, the people who try to do everything as efficiently and effectively as possible with as little BS as a deployed USMC infantry platoon that hasn't had an actual shower or flushing toilet in weeks.

Your generosity will help cover:
• Medical expenses (so he can continue his five-star hospital reviews)
• Living expenses while he's mastering the art of full-time bed warming
• Transportation to/from appointments (his new social calendar)
• Home improvements for easier navigation (interior design, medical edition)

Updates & Transparency
We're committed to keeping everyone updated on Richie's progress and how the funds are being used. We'll post regular updates here on his recovery journey and express our gratitude for your incredible support.

The Bright Side (Because Richie Would Want Us to Find One)
Despite everything, Richie is already planning his comeback tour. He's been giving motivational speeches to others about how "positivity comes from having gone through something worse" and has somehow turned recovery into a competitive sport worthy of a season theme for the TV show "Survivor" - proving that stubbornness and military-grade cynicism can overcome every obstacle.
We know that with your help and his unstoppable spirit, he'll be back to walking around in shorts and flip-flops before we know it - probably with some great new stories and a healthy respect for checking blind corners on sidewalks and roadways.

If you can't donate right now, no worries! Sharing this campaign is just as valuable. While Richie and his family might not like asking for help or getting attention, they still offer the same military-grade loyalty as if you were both in the same platoon out on patrol.

Thank you for reading about our favorite disaster magnet and for any support you can offer. Richie and his family don't know we're doing this yet - we're planning to surprise them with the total, right after we convince him that crowdfunding isn't the same as charity (it's basically just a group gift, right?).

*This campaign is organized by Ryan Stoddard, a close friend of the family and godfather to their children. All funds will go directly to Richie and his family to support their recovery and essential needs during this difficult time.*
