Help Revive Luna The Artcrane for BM 2023

Dear friends and fellow Burners,

Our beloved art car, Luna The Artcrane, sadly fell victim to a burglary while parked during the winter. As we came to pick her up to begin our 2023 construction season, we discovered over $70,000 in losses, including laptops and tablets, LED strips and their custom-made controllers, essential pieces of the sound system, and all our construction tools, down to the last screwdriver, including expensive welding and drilling equipment. With this unexpected setback and the costs of essential maintenance and repairs, our total estimated expenses for this year have skyrocketed to over $300,000, significantly exceeding our budget capacity.

Luna The Artcrane is more than just a vehicle; it's a labor of love and a symbol of passion, creativity, and art within our community. Through countless sleepless nights and long hours of hard work, Luna became one of the centerpieces at Burning Man and a source of joy for everyone who encountered her.

Despite these challenges, our determination to repair and remodel Luna for Burning Man 2023 remains unwavering. With your support, we can replace the stolen items, perform critical maintenance, and make improvements to ensure Luna is ready to shine on Playa once more.

The funds raised will cover various essential expenses, such as repurchasing stolen tools and materials, conducting base truck and crane maintenance and repairs, covering transportation and storage costs, and fixing our electric and sound systems, as the harsh Playa environment can be merciless even to protected electronics. Your contributions will significantly impact our efforts to restore Luna.
