On October 13, 2025, our dad, Panomphet “Billy” Sangvone, was suddenly detained by ICE and deported to Laos, a country he has not seen since he was three years old.
He was taken from his wife, his children, and his grandchildren—the life he has built in the United States for nearly five decades. His immigration case is based on a single, non-violent conviction from nearly 20 years ago. Since then, he has lived responsibly, raised a family, worked steadily, and contributed positively to his community.
The way he was removed was terrifying. He was surrounded and taken away as if he were a dangerous criminal—not a devoted father, husband, and grandfather who has lived peacefully and contributed to his community for 46 years.

This Is His Home
He came to the United States legally in 1979 as a refugee and became a lawful permanent resident soon after. He grew up here. He raised his family here. Everything he knows—his work, his faith, his community, and his children—is here.
To us, he is the steady center of our family. He is a father of five, a proud grandfather of two (with another on the way), and someone we have always depended on. Watching him be taken so suddenly has left a deep and lasting wound in our lives.
He is compassionate, dependable, intelligent, funny, and deeply selfless. He has spent his life caring for others, often quietly and without recognition.

Why We’re Asking for Help
We are raising funds to cover legal and immigration costs and to support our family while we fight to bring him home. With him gone, our mom is carrying everything alone, and this journey has placed an overwhelming emotional and financial burden on all of us.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us keep going. It reminds us that compassion still exists and that families like ours are worth fighting for.
If you would like to learn more about our dad’s story and advocacy work, please visit Pardon with Purpose using the link provided. We also respectfully ask for your support in signing and sharing the petition to reunite our family.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, praying, donating, or supporting us in any way. Your kindness gives us hope—and the chance to be together again.
