Our father has been the major provider for our family for decades, working tirelessly to support us and build a better life here in the United States—the only home he has known for over 40 years. Recently, his health took a serious turn after doctors discovered multiple cysts on his kidney requiring surgical removal, along with an enlarged prostate that caused months of painful complications. Unfortunately, because he was undocumented, hospitals in the U.S. would not perform the life-saving procedure without a Social Security number. With no other option, he was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to self-deport in order to receive the urgent medical treatment he needed.

Now, while he focuses on recovery, our family is facing not only mounting medical expenses but also the legal costs required to help bring him back to the country and family he has always called home. We are doing everything we can to support him, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
