Help Reunite Mary with her Children

Our names are Jenni and Jo-Ann, we work for a not for profit sewing centre. We’re raising money on behalf of our friend and colleague Mary Lambert and her family.

Mary and her husband Jerom arrived as asylum seekers and have been living in Australia since 2013.

Mary and Jerom fled the war in Sri Lanka, the circumstances they faced meant that they had to leave their young children behind.

They endured significant trauma and upheaval because of the war and had a long and perilous journey to Australia through Indonesia, where she thought she might die at sea.

They have not been able to see their three children for over 10 years who remain in Sri Lanka and it is not safe for Mary and Jerom to return.

" I have not seen my children for the past ten years. When I think that I have missed and lost the beautiful, loving time a mother could have with her kids at their small age, my heart shivers. Even though, with hope I am crossing my days. I feel like that I am rising from my darkest past and towards a bright future"

This family has endured years of hardship throughout the separation however they are now seeking to be reunited with their children here in Australia.

So far Mary and Jerom have been able to raise enough funds to bring two of their children to Australia, but have been struggling to raise the remaining funds. They are seeking assistance to raise the remaining visa fees so that they can be reunited with all three.

The funds that are raised will help them cover the cost of the children's Australian visas so that they can continue their lives here as a family.
