Mariane Cabuquing came to Reno, Nevada from the Philippines in October 2025 as part of a five-year cultural exchange program. She teaches at Libby C. Booth Elementary School in the special education program, working with children who have autism.
This required a big sacrifice as Mariane left behind her husband, Elton, and their two children: a five-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son.
Mariane and Elton hoped to save enough money so that he and the children can travel to Reno to join her here. However, they have found that her teacher's salary does not allow her to save any money at all. The expenses involved with paying for the visas for each one of them and the travel expenses are practically insurmountable.
Elton has received the visa approval to join Mariane in March, and they hope to bring the children over in June. They can only do so with our help to raise the necessary funds. Every dollar will help them get closer to being reunited as a family. Please consider donating what you can. Thank you!
