SECOND UPDATE: I am over here in tears, friends! The Midwest Immigration Bond Relief Fund just notified us that they can cover Ismael's father's bond in full. This means that the money we have raised can cover rent, lawyer costs, the cost of lost wages this month, and the cost of transporting Ismael's father back home as soon as next week! We are also very hopeful that it will be able to cover bond for Ismael's brother, which we will find out on Wednesday. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

UPDATE:

We just had the first bond hearing! Amazingly, the judge granted a bond for Ismael's father. We are SO thankful- but it was more than we expected! His bond is set at 7,500. We have the bond hearing for Ismael's brother next week, so we are upping our goal to get his family home as soon as we possibly can. We are so thankful for your support so far, and it would mean the world if you are able to continue to support this family!

Ismael is a former student of mine and one of the most amazing young men I know.
