My 12-year-old twin sons, Hadrian and Maddox, have been wrongfully separated from me, their stepmom, and their three-year-old brother, and we have not seen or heard from my twins since August 20th. Their mother has been hiding the boys at a shelter and has refused to return them to me or let them attend school. Their mother and I have 50/50 custody, but she has turned her one week of possession into three straight months of parental abduction so far. November 21st was Hadrian and Maddox's 12th birthday, and this is now the only birthday I have not spent with them.
The boys were in a safe, stable, happy, loving family in my household. We had just moved into a new home and were excited to begin a new chapter together before this traumatic event occurred. The boys had a great start to their school year and were excited about having made new friends and joining choir before their mother made them miss every day of school after August 20th.
Their mother has mental illness and a well-documented history of making false statements about the boys to their doctors and teachers for years. She has lived an unstable life and has burned many friend and family relationships over the years, including a broken engagement and moving out of her ex-fiance’s house less than a year ago. She has moved several times over the past six years. This is now her third parental abduction to a shelter under false pretenses, with her first being six years ago on November 18th.
The boys’ safety has been very much at risk since their mother took them in August, including two emergency room trips by ambulance without telling me. Hadrian was knocked unconscious in the shelter and needed emergency care, and then their mother totaled her car on the freeway while driving the boys, causing Hadrian and Maddox to both need emergency care.
Since my boys were taken from me, my wife and I have worked tirelessly with legal professionals, law enforcement, and doctors to bring Hadrian and Maddox home safely. Their mother’s car crash and the impacts of their isolation have added medical concerns and the need for ongoing therapy to the already overwhelming legal costs. Once my kids are freed, my wife and I can get them the additional in-person care that their mother is preventing them from receiving.
The emotional toll has been immense, including daily nausea, arm pain, and discomfort. My wife and I are deeply worried about Hadrian and Maddox’s safety and longing to reunite our family. This fundraiser will help cover urgent legal fees, medical expenses, and therapy for Hadrian and Maddox. Every contribution will support our efforts to heal and rebuild, giving the boys the chance to return to a safe, loving environment with us and their younger brother.
