A note from Meem: Please help our friend Abby and her family as they navigate this difficult time. They need finances for the car, the apartment, food, and money for a lawyer. Please share and give what you can afford.

Abby’s husband was detained by ICE on Tuesday, November 11th in North St. Paul. He was taken from his car on the way to work near White Bear Avenue without explanation. Their family is devastated and needs support at this time.

A note from family: Gregorio Sotelo salió a trabajar como todos los días cuando sin causa alguna lo detuvieron al salir a la calle a unos minutos de su casa varias carros lo sacaron del carro sin explicación alguna lo esposaron sin darles motivos llevándolo detenido. Él está detenido en la cárcel de Sherburne County Jail. 

Mis hijos más pequeños lloran mucho ya que mi esposo se quedaba cuidándolos. después de que leyó me fuera al trabajo él los dormí los bañaba ahora se quedan con una tía (mientras trabajo), la niña pregunta cuando va a regresar su papá. Si hay posibilidades de pagar fianza y es lo que más preocupa si le dan fianza el monto y no cuento con esa cantidad y para la renta también son gastos que no están dentro de mi presupuesto.

Family’s note translated: Gregorio Sotelo left for work like he does every day when, without a cause, they detained him. Upon leaving onto the street, a few minutes from his home. Various cars arrived. They got him out of the car. Without an explanation, without giving motives, they took him into custody. He’s being detained in the Sherborne County jail. My young kids cry a lot. My husband would take care of them. I would go to work in the afternoons. He used to put them to bed, bathe them. Now, they are with an aunt when I’m at work. The youngest girl asks when her dad is going to come home. 

If there are any possibilities to help with finance, that is what I am most worried about. If anyone can help with car finances [and] rent and other expenses that are not within my budget.
