Reunited & Home Safe: Help us cover Our Remaining Legal Fees

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Arthur Sahakyan, and I'm reaching out for help during one of the most challenging times in our lives. My beloved wife, Arpineh Masihi, is an Armenian Christian who fled Iran as a child with her family to escape oppressive leadership. They arrived in the United States seeking safety and a better future, but faced immense hardships—poverty, language barriers, and the struggle to rebuild their lives from nothing. Despite these obstacles, Arpineh grew into a resilient, compassionate woman who has dedicated her life to her family, her community, and her faith. We've built a beautiful life together in Diamond Bar, California, raising our four wonderful children.

Arpineh has been the heart of our home, balancing her role as a devoted mother with her contributions to society. For the past 17 years, she's shown remarkable growth and rehabilitation since a difficult chapter in 2008. She's volunteered in our community, supported those in need, and embodied the values of honesty, empathy, and hard work that define her character. But now, our family is torn apart.

Arpineh is currently detained at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center, facing deportation despite her deep ties to this country and her status as a refugee. This has been devastating for all of us—our children miss their mother every day, and I'm doing everything I can to hold things together while fighting for her release.

Her pardon application is under review by the Board of Parole Hearings and the Governor’s Office, and we've submitted strong letters of support highlighting her positive changes and the injustice of her situation. We've also gained some media attention, including from outlets like the BBC, The Orange County Register, and others, but we need more resources to keep the momentum going. The emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Legal fees, advocacy efforts, and supporting our family without her income are stretching us thin. That's why I'm starting this GoFundMe—to cover attorney costs, bond if possible, travel for hearings, and basic needs for our children while we work toward reuniting our family.

Arpineh's story is one of perseverance and hope. As a refugee who overcame so much, she deserves a chance to stay with the family she's built here. Your support means the world to us—it could make the difference in bringing her home.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading our story, sharing it, and contributing if you're able.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to justice and reunion. With gratitude,

Arthur Sahakyan and family
