Help Reunite a Mother and Her 9 yr Old Son

The Friends of Anny Martinez has launched this fundraiser to support Anny by raising funds to cover the expense of an effective legal team in her battle to regain custody of her 9 year old son.

Too many of us are survivors of trauma, abuse, and neglect at the hands of a parent or guardian. We know just how hard it is to break away from the grasp of an abuser, and to bravely chart our own path. Anny has seen how an obsessive, controlling, and physically, verbally, and psychologically abusive father has destroyed the fabric of her family life, and rendered her  9 year old son joyless, defeated, and dissociated from his surroundings.

Friends of Anny knows just how critical restoring Anny's child to her protective and loving care would be in guaranteeing her child is secure, loved, and given the environment and support he needs to thrive and overcome years of abuse.

Please give what you can today so we can flip the script for Anny and her son by hiring a legal team that is up to the task of reuniting them once and for all.

And please sign and share this petition to amplify Anny's case: Demand Justice to Reunite Mother and Son 1 Year of Alienation

UPDATE

In roughly 24 hours, we are being forced to bring down our Change.org petition by Judge Velaquez’s order, as DCP&P submitted a request on the court’s behalf directly to Change.org. Once again, the system is being used as a weapon to silence the truth under the guise of "protected information" and the unjust amount of discretion particularly Hudson County courts and child "protection" agencies have. One thing you’ll realize if you look at other states, including our neighboring New York, is that our courts have enormous amounts of discretion to run them as they please including in ways that cover up crimes, frame innocent women of being “crazy” or assist high ranking officials’ official misconduct for political favors.

No other place in America is a high-ranking civil servant able to corruptly abuse his influence like they do in Hudson County, where the enormous amount of trauma and psychological abuse brought upon a woman and a child is simply dismissed or overlooked. As we delved deeper into this issue with our friend Anny, we uncovered that this systemic abuse is a much larger problem than we had anticipated and she is just one victim out of thousands of women.

B.Z. has used the courts, his police "buddies" and the DCP&P over and over to deprive his own only child of the love & affection of his mother.  He violated his rights and stonewalled him from any real protection, instead framing the threat as if it’s coming from his mother. This child has been isolated from any real help and any person that doesn’t seek to cover-up the abuse. He yearns and asks for his mother and only brother in vain. We are heartbroken to witness year after year that the system has failed him and the abuse and alienation from his mother persists, with no concern from anyone but his mother and his mother’s close friends. The justification continually is - "Oh he's a boy, he'll be fine. All boys get bruises." and the clear signs where he expresses his calls for help are simply ignored. Boys are allowed to cry and feel pain and ask for help.

This child deserves the warmth and protection of his loving mother. He deserves to be allowed to share when he is hurt and be cared for in those moments. He deserves to be allowed to talk and see his mother. He deserves to have his mother’s help with homework. He deserves to have the support of his mother help his dreams and interests to be nurtured. He deserves the love and affection from his mother and his older, role model jiu-jitsu champion brother. Can you even imagine the pain of this unjust, traumatic separation happening in the boy’s most important formative years? We can’t, but we’ve watched it happen year after year, including witnessing first-hand the damage being inflicted on the boy, a boy who’s clearly hiding his pain.

Thank you to every single person that signed and shared this petition and was not only disturbed by the injustice and failure of the system, but inspired by this mother’s strength and perseverance. We wanted to share her story and hope that this story doesn’t just get forgotten, but that it impacts enough people to create the kind of systemic changes we need not only to bring this family justice, but also others who may be suffering the same fate.

Where most would cower and take a plea bargain, or sign papers that violate your freedom or your integrity, this mother has relentlessly stood strong against retaliation after retaliation perpetrated by the father using his political pull in this corrupt NJ system.

Friends of Anny is more than a group of people who are interested in continuing to support this incredible mother’s valiant fight for justice and protection for herself and her children - it is a stand against this kind of all-too-common abuse of coercive control, and against manipulation of the system that separates families and creates trauma. We will keep fighting for her and every person who deserves to be heard. We pray for her and for justice.

Keep sharing, save this story, donate to her legal fund (last chance for hope!) let’s break 1000 signatures before this petition is buried...

We ask you to please donate to Anny's Legal Fund and sign the petition  in support of justice for this family.
