On October 29, during the ICE raid at a warehouse in Avenel, New Jersey, a young mother was detained while simply trying to work and provide for her family.

Claudia was first taken to the Elizabeth Detention Center, and has since been transferred over a thousand miles away to the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center. Her husband, who remains in New Jersey caring for their baby—a U.S. citizen—has lost all direct contact with her.

The few phone calls they were able to make cost as much as $10 for just 3 minutes are now impossible as they are separated by a system that makes it nearly impossible to stay connected or fight for justice without help.
