Hi, everyone. This fundraiser is for anyone wanting to help bring my son, Niklaus, home after his father did not return him from his summer visitation.
After our separation and divorce, I have had sole legal and physical custody of Niklaus. Prior to that, I was a stay-at-home mom and military wife for 3 years. We eventually moved to Missouri and started a new life.
This summer, I allowed for the summer visitation, against my better judgement. I had received word that my ex-husband and a family member of mine were plotting together in the taking of Niklaus. I decided to follow the court order in place and continued with visitation. In return, my ex-husband filed an emergency temporary order of protection 7 days prior to our son returning home to me, which was granted in Texas due to false accusations, that still have not been proven. I have requested a change of jurisdiction due to Texas not being a home state to any of the parties involved, as we only lived there for less than a year—the request was denied.
For the past few months, I have followed all the court orders and recommendations, only to still be tied up with financial burdens I cannot afford to fight. I have struggled mentally and financially during this fight. It has been unbearable as a mother to be restricted from my son, while fighting in another state’s court system to grant me my full rights again. My son has been moved from Texas to California recently. We are in two different states but our custody battle remains in Texas. Niklaus just turned 5 years old. He is a very intelligent and loving child. However, he is unaware of what is happening and continues to be hopeful he will return home to me. This has been a devastating time and my options at this point are limited.
With your help, I plan to use the funds to pay the attorney fees, obtain professional testimony, obtain an amicus for my son, file the necessary motions and appeals, and take the case to trial, if necessary. Also, the funds will allow me to visit my son more frequently while this battle continues. Please help me fight.
