Help Retired Dallas Fire Captain & His Wife After House Fire

Donation protected
Yesterday morning, in the very early hours, my grandparents’ home was overtaken by a devastating fire.

My grandfather is a retired Captain of the Dallas Fire Department and served for many years as an arson investigator. He dedicated his life and career to protecting others, running toward danger when others were running away.

At home, he is the devoted full-time caregiver to his wife of 54 years, who relies on him daily for her care.

When the fire broke out, he woke to the emergency and immediately sprang into action, getting her out safely. In the process of saving her, he inhaled a significant amount of smoke.

Thankfully, they both survived — but their home, built by my great-grandfather and cherished by our family for generations, was completely lost.

They are currently receiving care in the burn unit as they recover.

As they navigate the aftermath of this fire, we have set an initial goal of $25,000 to help cover temporary housing, medical expenses, replacement of essential belongings, accessibility needs, and immediate living expenses. We will continue to provide updates as we better understand their long-term needs.

After a lifetime of serving and protecting his community, we hope that same community can now surround them with support during this time. While the road ahead will be long, we are incredibly grateful they are safe. Any donation or share of this page is sincerely appreciated.
