Donate to help rethatch Polli Talu's mainhouse reed roof

My name is Marika Blossfeldt and I am the Founder and Artistic Director of Polli Talu Arts Center in my birth country, Estonia. Polli Talu is a traditional farm complex that has been restored to accommodate resident artists in the former barn, now art studio, and performing artists in the former haybarn, now dance studio. I spend my summers at Polli Talu, conducting yoga, wellness, and cooking retreats. Other yoga teachers, dancers, and choreographers are welcome to use our facilities as well. Housing is provided in the former storehouse and in the lofts of the dance and art studios. The food we serve our guests is based on whole foods and always freshly prepared with love and care.
As a traditional farm complex, all roofs at Polli Talu are traditional thatched roofs. All roofs were rethatched when I bought the farm in 1995. Every summer, one new reed roof was built. Now, the oldest roof in the complex is showing decay and when it rains, it leaks in several places. It is the main house roof that needs to be replaced with a new reed roof. We received support from the Cultural Heritage Foundation in Estonia (10,000 EUR) and have successfully raised funds in Estonia (15,102 EUR), but are still shy 7,500 USD.
