Good day, I am Craig Herman, an internationally trained and credentialed EMS Educator, Paramedic, Aeromedical Flight Communications Specialist, Aeromedical Flight Coordinator, Associate Mass Casualty Management Specialist and Instructor based here on the island of St. Lucia, I and my associate colleage Ms. Tanji Prospere are collaborating to help raise funds to help save lives on the island.
We have embarked on this Humanitarian Project to help repair 2 Critical Care Ambulances on the island through our project branded the "Arch Angel Project".
A BUD OF FAITH: Your contribution can make a real difference when it comes to saving lives and ensuring the Critical Care Ambulance Services St. Lucia is becomes a reality and fully operational. Based on lessons learned from the devastation of “HURRICANE TOMAS” which saw the town of Soufriere cut off from the rest of the island and only accessible by air and sea, and the unavailability of ambulances at times or the long lengthy delay awaiting one, the Arch Angel Project has embarked on a mission to improve local capacity and assist in the repair of 2 critical Care Ambulances as part of the Arch Angel Project on island Medevac Helicopter Service Project
This initiative began when my dad had a seizure many years ago which resulted in my calling the Fire Department for emergency assistance which took them 25 minutes to respond to my dad's location 5 minutes away on a Sunday morning no traffic at 2:00 am.
When they did arrive he was not provided Basic Life Support Care and transport to the hospital to receive the definitive care which he required following the seizure and subsequently went into cardiac arrest and no Basic Life Support initiated and/or emergency transport to the hospital was never initiated. To day Advance and Critical Care life Support remains unavailable in St. Lucia in the Prehospital Care setiing.
This tragic ordeal formed the foundation for my chosen career and mission to ehnance, change and develop the Emergency Medical Services in St. Lucia my country and to ensure that no other St. Lucian, Visitor, or their loved ones experience the same fate, ordeal or unable to receive the prompt appropriate leavel of Prehospital Emergency Medical Care the deserve.
