Help Restore the Tokenke Preserve Trail(EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT)
Donation protected
My name is Marshall Smith, I am raising funds for my Eagle Scout Project. The project is to clear and build a wooden pathway for the Tokeneke Land Preserve in Darien Connecticut. The land is owned by the Darien Land Trust, which will be the beneficiary of the project. The Tokeneke land preserve is located in the heart of the Tokeneke neighborhood and is used by neighborhood members. Unfortunately, over the last two years, The path has fallen out of walkable condition. The boundaries of the path have fallen out of shape, and it is hard to depict the difference between the path and the rest of the land. Areas of the trail have also become permanently muddy, wet, or even flooded, making it very difficult for members of the neighborhood to comfortably walk through the trail.
This Eagle Scout project will have three main goals;
1. To clear out debris from the trail
2. To redefine the trail borders
3. To build the wooden boardwalk
*ALL DONATED FUNDS WILL GO TOWARDS THE COST OF WOOD AND BUILDING MATERIALS
Overall, the project is about improving the accessibility and quality of the path on the Tokeneke preserve, by redefining the path, the surrounding land will also be protected from foot traffic. This will prevent nearby marshland from being walked on and potentially harmed.
