Verhaal
Maestro Sany Meny neemt verantwoordelijkheid.

Story
Deep in the Peruvian jungle, on the banks of the Ucayali River, lies a small ceremonial center led by Maestro Sany Meny — a Shipibo Konibo healer with decades of experience in traditional plant medicine. This is where people from around the world come to sit in ceremony, to heal, and to do the deep inner work that the sacred plants make possible.
At the heart of this center stands the maloca: a large, open ceremonial space made of natural jungle wood. It is here that ceremonies take place. It is where people rest, recover, and connect with the medicine. The maloca is not just a structure — it is the container for everything that happens here.
What happened
In 2024, the center was hit by a severe flood. The Ucayali River rose more than two meters above its normal level, submerging the entire area. The water damaged the wood throughout the center, and the maloca was hit particularly hard. Even the strongest jungle wood suffers under these conditions. Moisture, standing water, and time take their toll. The jungle reclaims everything that is not well maintained.
Right now, the roof of the maloca is leaking. Water comes in during the rain. The wood has begun to rot. If nothing is done, the damage will worsen and the costs will increase significantly.
What the Maestro is doing
Maestro Sany Meny is taking responsibility. He is investing 5,000 soles (approximately €1,200) from his own funds toward the repair. He has already spent money clearing the terrain after the flood and preparing the site. But the full repair — replacing the roof with a stronger, more resilient structure that can better withstand the heavy tropical rains — requires more than he can cover alone.
What is needed
The total cost for the roof replacement is approximately €3,000. With the Maestro’s own contribution of €1,200, we are asking our community to help cover the remaining €1,800.
This ensures the maloca remains a safe, dry space. A place for ceremony. A place to rest. A place where the sacred work with the plants can continue.
Transparency
GoFundMe charges a small transaction fee of approximately 2.9% + €0.30 per donation. There is no platform fee. All remaining funds go directly toward the maloca roof repair. We will share updates on progress and how funds are used.
