Our local Belgian Gardens Scout Group in Townsville has always been a place where young people learn practical skills, build confidence, and form lifelong friendships. For many families, the Scout Den is more than just a building — it’s a safe place where kids grow, explore, and belong.
Earlier this week, we were unfortunately the victims of copper theft. Thieves removed all of the external water pipes from the building. While thankfully the Den itself wasn’t damaged, the loss of the plumbing means we are now without running water and facing an unexpected repair bill to replace the pipes and restore the system.
We’re reaching out to our Townsville community for help. Any contribution — big or small — will go directly towards:
-Replacing the stolen plumbing
-Repairing the damage
-Keeping the Scout Den running for the kids who use it every week
Scouting is powered by volunteers and community spirit. With your support, we can get the Den back up and running quickly so our Joeys, Cubs and Scouts and Ventures can keep learning, adventuring and growing together.
