Hi, I’m Elsid, a member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, and I’m working on my Eagle Scout Project as part of Troop 276. I’ve been involved in Scouting since elementary school and have held leadership roles such as Senior Patrol Leader, Scribe, Den Chief, and Patrol Leader. Now, I’m ready to apply what I’ve learned to give back to my community with this Eagle Scout Project. The project is focused on revitalizing the church’s garden, which has unfortunately fallen into disrepair over the years. This garden plays an important role in our community, growing fresh produce and plants that not only support the church but are also donated to local food banks to help those in need.
As part of this project, I’ll be installing a PVC sprinkler irrigation system to make the garden easier to maintain. The system will involve laying PVC piping, connecting it with fittings such as elbows, T-connectors, and couplings. I’ll also be installing pop-up sprinkler heads to ensure all areas of the garden get the right amount of water. To keep things safe and efficient, the system will include a backflow preventer and irrigation valves, all controlled by a timer/controller to schedule watering.
This project is a great leadership opportunity for me as I plan, organize, and lead this effort, making use of skills I’ve gained in Scouts. Your donations will directly fund the purchase of materials needed for the sprinkler system, along with mulch, fertilizer, and new plants to be added into the garden. Your support will ensure this garden continues to provide fresh produce for our church community and food banks for years to come. Every donation, big or small, helps bring this project closer to completion. Thank you for your generosity and for helping me make a lasting impact on the church and our community.
All excess proceeds will go towards the benefactor.
