Help make Grandma's house a home
Homes aren’t just buildings — they’re pieces of a family’s heart.
We’re helping a grandmother who’s spent her life caring for others.
She’s now living alone, with fading eyesight, on a small fixed income — and her home has become dangerously unsafe without her realizing it.
We first discovered a large hole in her bathroom floor — a serious life and safety risk.
I began remodeling her bathroom (out of pocket) to fix it — but during that work, I found even greater dangers:
- Her electrical panel is extremely outdated, overcrowded, and deteriorated.
- It’s being fed unsafely by four undersized 8-gauge wires, many of which are nicked or heat-damaged, posing a serious fire risk.
- Several branch circuits are also damaged and overheating.
- She has no working heat or AC, living through harsh seasons without relief.
What We’re Doing:
- I will be personally installing a brand-new 200-amp panel and rewiring the entire home — at no labor cost. Wizard Electric, and master electrician Zachary Jacobs from Henderson County has offered his labor free of charge as well.
- All electrical work will be fully permitted and inspected by the city for safety and compliance.
- We are hiring a licensed electrician only to install the new service mast, meter, and run the main service entrance cable — as required by law.
- We hope to also replace her failed HVAC system if enough is raised.
Stretching Every Dollar:
- I have contractor accounts at Lowe’s and supply houses for discounted material costs.
- We have a licensed HVAC technician (Seth Himes and Kevin Abercrombie) generously offering to install the new system free of charge.
- Every dollar goes directly to materials, permits, minimal licensed electrician work, and HVAC help — nothing else.
Ways You Can Help:
- Donate here through GoFundMe.
- Message me directly if you'd prefer to donate via PayPal to maximize your contribution and avoid processing fees.
Material donations are also deeply appreciated:
- 12/2 Romex wiring
- 10/2 Romex (for heavier appliance runs)
- White outlets
- White GFCI outlets
- White light switches
- Outlet boxes
- Volunteer labor if you’re local and skilled
Every bit — whether time, materials, or money — moves us closer to making her home safe and livable again.
A Personal Note:
Over the years, I’ve helped many people — with my hands, my time, and my own money — never asking for anything back.
This is the first time I’m asking for help —
not for me, but for someone who deserves a safe home in her final years.
Even a small donation or contribution makes a real impact.
If you're unable to donate, even sharing this fundraiser or keeping her in your prayers would mean more than you know.
Thank you for standing with her — and for believing in the good we can still build together.
