I’ve been coaching for several years at Light of Valley Church in Elk Grove, CA, where I train players two or three days a week. The court is a great location, adjacent to a park and parking lot, with nice rims and glass backboards. However, the surface is worn, with faded or missing lines—free throw lanes and lines have no appearance, the baseline and sidelines are nonexistent, and there’s absolutely no half-court circle. There are a few noticeable cracks as well, making it hard for players to train and play safely.


My players come from all walks of life, and I know that fixing the court and painting new lines would make them feel like they’re playing at the highest level. It would lift my basketball program immensely, and Light of Valley Church would be proud to have a top-notch court for the community.


I’m a San Francisco Recreation Department retiree who spent 30 years coaching basketball, baseball, and tennis.
