Our community pool, Harrison Bruce Aquatic Center, is currently out of operation. It’s closure has affected far more than just one group, it has impacted families, kids, seniors, local programs, and everyone who relies on this space for recreation, health, and connection.
For many in our town, the pool is one of the few accessible places for:
• Kids to safely learn to swim
• Families to gather during the summer months
• Community programs and lessons to operate
• Individuals to exercise, rehab, and stay active
Right now, the pool remains closed due to necessary repairs and operational costs that must be addressed before it can reopen.
This fundraiser is being organized to directly support the pool itself. All funds raised will go toward pool-related costs only, including repairs, maintenance, and expenses required to safely operate the facility again. The money raised will not be used for personal purposes or for any single organization.
While local groups such as the Herrin Tigersharks Swim Team are among those affected, this effort is about restoring a shared community resource that benefits everyone.
A working pool strengthens a town. It creates safe spaces for kids, supports healthy routines, and brings people together in ways few other places can. If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, your support will help move us one step closer to reopening a space that means so much to so many.
Thank you for supporting our community.
