What Happened

Hurricane Melissa struck our community in Westmoreland, Jamaica with devastating force. Our beloved family home — built by our Father and Mother who passed it down to our family — was severely damaged. The roof was torn off, furniture and fixtures were destroyed, and the structure was left exposed to the elements.

But we are grateful. We still have our lives. And now, we are determined to rebuild.

More Than a Home — A Pillar of the Community

Our home isn’t just where we live — it’s where the community comes together.

Right in front of the house, our brother Dania runs a small shop that serves many roles: a store, a meeting place, a makeshift classroom, and now, a hub for community cleanup. It’s where neighbors borrow tools, share ideas, and receive meals and water donated by those who can help.

We’re doing what Jamaicans have always done — looking out for each other in times of need. When someone needs a hot meal or a helping hand, they know they can come to our spot.

This space has long been a place to gather, talk, and dream about building a stronger community. Our family has always opened its doors to others. Now, we’re asking for help to keep those doors open.

How You Can Help

We’re raising $10,000 to cover:

- Roof replacement - the old zinc roof was destroyed by 185 MPH winds. We want to replace it with a slab roof and fortify the foundation.

- Basic furniture and fixtures.

- Structural repairs to make the home livable again.

- Restoring the shop. The roof was also damaged, and we are determined to get it back to a condition where Dania can continue serving the community.

Every donation — no matter the size — brings us closer to restoring not just a house, but a home and a hub of hope.

A Message from Our Family

We know we are not the only ones impacted. So many families across Jamaica are hurting right now. We pray that they too will find the strength and support to rebuild.

Jamaicans are survivors. We are strong, we are proud, and we will thrive once again.
