Help Us Rebuild Our Cub Scout Camp After Hurricane Helene
My name is Jeremy and I am one of the leaders of scout group here in Ashe County, NC. Our Cub Scout group is the only one in Ashe County, and we are one of the few youth-based programs in the area outside of sports. Our camp has been a crucial part of the scouting experience, offering a place for scouts to learn, grow, and form lasting bonds through outdoor activities. Over the past few years, our program has experienced incredible growth, with membership increasing by triple digits. This camp has been a key element in supporting that growth, providing a space for our scouts to thrive.
Unfortunately, as many already know Hurricane Helene brought devastating floods to Western NC and our camp was not spared. The New River rose as much as 45 feet in some areas, and our entire camp was destroyed by the flooding. The buildings, equipment, and the banks of the New River that our scouts have cherished are gone.
While scouting in Ashe County remains strong and continues to grow, rebuilding this camp is critical to our future success. The camp has been a place of adventure, learning, and personal growth for our scouts, and we are determined to bring it back, better than ever.
We are asking for your support to help us rebuild. Every donation will go directly toward restoring the camp and ensuring that it continues to serve as a vital resource for our scouts. Your contribution will help us provide a safe, enriching environment where young people can develop essential skills and build lifelong friendships.
Thank you for your generosity and support. With your help, we can rebuild our camp and continue to provide unforgettable experiences for the next generation of scouts in Ashe County.
