My name is Denise Wilson, and I serve as a 4th‑grade math teacher and the coordinator of the Bronco Kare Korral Food Pantry at Winchester Elementary in the Whitehaven community of Memphis, TN. What began as a small effort to support a few families has grown into a lifeline for hundreds of children and parents who are doing their very best in the face of real hardship.
Each week, our pantry provides Weekend Food Bags to 298 students so they have reliable meals when school is closed. Every Friday, we also distribute full grocery boxes to families across Whitehaven, making sure parents don’t have to choose between feeding their children and meeting other essential needs.
The need is growing, and our shelves are emptying faster than we can restock them. This fundraiser helps us keep food in the hands of the children and families who depend on us — with dignity, consistency, and love.
