Help Replace the Broadway Theater's AC

Tax deductible
The Broadway Theater's air conditioning system has died, and the cost to replace it exceeds our cash reserves.

We need your help to pay for the cost of replacing
the Broadway AC. Your support will help keep ticket prices low and let us continue to provide theatre experience at no fee required to all cast, crew and all production participants involved in each show performance.

Your support will help The Friends of the Broadway continue to provide theatre experience to hundreds of children and adults each season. The Broadway Theater is home to two theatre troupes: The Broadway Playhouse Kids and the Broadway Players.

With your help, we can continue to provide a place for kids to create and thrive in a supportive environment. The talents of children who join the Broadway Playhouse Kids blossom in a welcoming environment that builds self-assurance. Young actors learn how to express themselves, build confidence and develop skills. Please donate today to help kids shine in the spotlight of the Broadway stage.

Please don't let the following cast and audience “sweat” the performances. Donate today.

The Friends of the Broadway established the Broadway Playhouse Kids in the fall of 2002 to offer live theatre productions by children at the Broadway Theater. The Broadway Playhouse Kids range in age from 6 to 18. In fact, the group has provided a Summer Drama Camp each summer since its inception, which is open to local youth.

Experienced BPK actors share their talents with Camp kids.

Don’t miss being part of this historic theater's future!

Back when commercial air conditioning (AC) came on the scene in the 1950's, the local theater was the place to go to enjoy “chilled air.” It was “Cool Inside.” Today the Broadway Theater in Mt. Pleasant may be the only publicly accessible facility in town without AC. Please donate today to help cover the costs necessary to replace the existing inoperable AC system.

Your support will allow the Broadway Theater to continue as a community venue for performances and activities which entertain, educate, and culturally enrich our community.

This 460-seat gem of a theater, originally built in 1919 as a Vaudeville and motion picture venue, is not only a historic part of Mt. Pleasant and Isabella County; it is also a much-needed performance venue that serves our youth and community.

By making a donation today, you not only ensure the Theater’s success, you also become part of the observation of the history this theater has provided to the performing arts.

There are so many reasons to get involved – we hope you’ll join us now!

Your donation is tax-deductible, and best of all, YOU will feel great when you attend an event at the Broadway, knowing you were part of keeping this theater alive, making a community dream come true!

To everyone who will join us today, either for the first time or as an encore donor, thank you for your support!!!

The Friends of the Broadway provides a theatre experience to hundreds of children and adults each season. The talents of children who join the Broadway Playhouse Kids blossom in a supportive environment that builds self-assurance. Young actors learn how to express themselves, build confidence and develop skills. The Broadway Players give not only the novice but also the experienced adult actor, director, writer, choreographer and musician the chance to study and practice their draft. Other community organizations use the Broadway Theatre for special events, ceremonies, and talent shows.
