Help Replace Our Failing AC Unit

Help Us Keep the Community Cool — Literally!

We're reaching out to ask for your support during a critical moment for our shared space and the community we serve. Our air conditioning unit is on its last leg — and with summer quickly approaching, this isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s urgent.

This space isn’t just a building — it’s a hub for love, care, and service. The Fort Worth Community Collaborative, Funkytown Fridge, Westside Learning Collective, and Westside Presbyterian Church all operate from here, providing essential resources like food, clothing, education, and a safe place to gather.

We’ve managed a few temporary fixes to buy some time, but we’re now at the point where we need to replace the AC unit entirely. We can’t continue our work — or keep our doors open during the hottest months — without it.

At $5,000, We'll be able to get a temporary fix for our front offices, where the Fort Worth Community Collaborative invites folks in to shop for free clothing. Summer without AC will make this miserable for all our volunteers and clients, so this is urgent.

Between $5,001-$9,999, various creative methods will be attempted to merge existing fixes to produce the largest benefit. This is a difficult place as it won't be enough to fix more than one area correctly, and we would hate to make a fix that we will have to unfix or repair soon again.

At $10,000, we'll be able to hire an AC installer to help us prop up the volunteer sorting area in the back of the building, which is already heating up far too much for volunteer comfort. We have a generous donation of an ac unit for that back room, but to install it and adjust the existing infrastructure will be costly.

At $20,000, we will be able to do the above and have a much more robust response to this crisis and be more creative with more AC units that can integrate together to serve all of our hot spots, instead of just addressing fires when they come up. This includes replacing windows, installing another AC unit, adjusting ventilation systems, and integrating with and improving the current AC system.
