We are fundraising for Bradley Jones. Bradley is 16 months old and was born with profound hearing loss in both ears - he is completely deaf. At 9 months old I got him bilateral cochlear implants. He has 2 sets of processors, 2 different models. He only tolerates the Kanso model, the other set we are lucky if we can get an hour total of non-consecutive wear time in a day. Ideally he needs to wear them for a minimum of 5 hours a day in, bilaterally, in order to progress in speech and verbal language goals and catch up to his hearing peers. His Kansos were lost/stolen in May and thankfully Cochlear replaced them. However, when he lost his right processor last month and I contacted the company, they stated that we can only replace with insurance once in the lifetime of the product. If I cannot get him consistently wearing for the recommended amounts of time bilaterally, all of the time and effort and resources that have gone into this will have been for nothing. We are doing all we can to get Bradley to wear his other set of processors (without much luck). But this early out of the gate I realize, and our audiologist and speech support concur, that having only one set of processors is unrealistic. He is a toddler and things unfortunately happen. A new processor is just shy of $12K, but we can purchase a refurbished one for $8K. We are hoping to raise the funds to do that. I appreciate you listening to his story. Every share helps. ❤️
