Help replace Kaelan's bike

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm fundraising to replace my son Kaelan's stolen bike, which was taken from him in the most despicable manner.

I never imagined I would have to use Gofundme. I posted about the incident on a local Facebook group in hopes of finding witnesses to the crime, and got many responses encouraging me to crowdfund to replace his bike. So...I thought I would give it a go!

Kalean is 14 years old and an avid bike rider. He has learned to do lots of tricks and skills and regularly attends bike meets where he gets to socialise and connect with others and share a common passion. As Kaelan is a very introverted boy, this has really helped him to come out of his shell and learn new social skills. He also used it to take himself to and from school everyday.

Sadly, a few days ago, he was cycling home when he became suddenly unwell. He began throwing up and had to sit down on the kerb on Stoke Newington Church Street. He was only minutes away from our home. A seemingly kind gentleman stopped and offered to help him walk the rest of the way. He offered to push Kaelan's bike and walked with him for a few minutes. Heartbreakingly, when Kaelan stopped to throw up a second time, the man made off with his bike and disappeared before Kaelan could get back up and wipe his mouth!

This has left us angry and truly in disbelief. Kaelan was a sick child in need of help, and instead of being supported, he was taken advantage of and robbed at his most vulnerable. Kaelan feels really guilty, even though he was a victim and none of this was his fault.

I had saved an entire year prior to gifting him the bike for Christmas 2025. The police has been notified but closed the case immediately, as they don't seem to purse these crimes as they happen so often in London

Kaelan’s stolen bike was more than just a toy — it was a way for him to connect, learn new skills, and get around safely. After a heartbreaking incident where he was vulnerable and in need of help, losing his bike feels like a setback for his confidence and independence.

Any support, big or small, would mean the world. Even sharing this with others can help us reach more people who might be able to help. Please consider donating or sharing if you can — it would really make a difference for Kaelan right now. Thank you so much! #SupportKaelan #CommunityHelp

Any extra money raised will go towards insuring the replacement bike.

His bike was a Carrera Hellcat I had purchased from Halfords. He had also modified it and had cost me around £500 altogether. The bike is currently still being sold for £410 in Halfords.
