Help Replace David's Stolen Cargo Bike

David Walker, long-time Menlo Park resident, father of two, Manzo Bike Club Coach and buffelgrass activist had his cargo bike stolen from his backyard early in June. While bike theft is, sadly, rampant in Tucson affecting many people every day with little or no help to replace their bikes, David’s cargo bike and what it means to families and kids on the west side is a little different. Here’s why.

David uses his cargo bike to coach the El Grupo Youth Cycling Manzo Bike Club, an after school club for Manzo Elementary School children and families on the west side. Youth in the club gain bike skills, explore their community, and build confidence, camaraderie and friendship. David uses his cargo bike to run errands for the elderly and home bound in Menlo Park, and he is often seen using it to haul home repair or landscaping equipment to help a neighbor out. In cooler weather, David uses his cargo bike when he is organizing buffelgrass pulls on A Mountain.

We, his neighbors and friends, are organizing this GoFundMe to help David replace his cargo bike faster because David without his cargo bike is like a fish without water. This small gesture from his neighbors is a way for us to give back to a person who gives so much to us. Thanks for your help and support.
