Help repair Murray home from San Diego flood
Donation protected

My parents have always helped anyone in need. My Dad started his life serving in the Marine Corps and when he got honorably discharged he continued in a career in law enforcement. My mother was a stay at home mom of 6 kids, and they even helped raise children that the parents were at the time incapable of doing. If you need food, my parents got it for you. If you needed clothes, done. If you needed your house painted, my Dad was painting that house even after a long homicide investigation or swat stand off. If you couldn’t give your child a Christmas, my mom was giving your child a Christmas that included gifts from Santa and sweet treats. If you were hard up on cash and your electric was going to be shut off, my parents were finding a way. If someone was being unlawful on your property or threatening you, Dad to the rescue. They have always been there.
They are retired, mid 70’s, and on a fixed income. My brothers are attempting to pay for everything but say it will cost over $10,000. All my parents stuff was moved out of the house, walls being torn down, flooring taken out, and I’m not sure what else. My parents are having to stay at separate houses and feel completely uprooted, so much so mom forgets to take her meds even with a reminder. This comes at a time shortly after my brother Chris being in a horrific motorcycle accident causing home nurses and my parents to care for him.
If my parents knew we were asking for help, and when they find out they won’t be to happy but it is what it is and sometimes even the heroes need help. There was no flood insurance on the home.
My parents are devastated. This is a home my Dad drew blue prints for, my Grandfather and Dad along with some workers built, and over 30 children who are now adults have sentimental ties too. I see the pictures and I cry. To think a man and woman who built their lives around helping others have to experience this at this age where they aren’t as able as they use to be.
The Murray children are asking you and our community to help us restore my parents home into a livable condition. However, please don’t help if it will put you in financial strain. My parents would be very upset if someone went into financial strain on their behalf. So if you can’t help with funds please share this go fund me and more than anything pray for my parents because God will deliver.
