Hello, this is Jess Cody Wright (Burdine). I made this GoFundMe for my parents (my mom) who have always struggled financially.

Right now, they are dealing with a horrible black mold problem in the ceiling of my parents' bedroom. It was suffocating for my mother to be quoted 9000 dollars to repair the ceiling and roof. She has a lot on her plate with her own health, while managing my father's dementia and trying to keep the roof over their heads.

We appreciate anything anyone is able to give. We also appreciate anyone sharing this GoFundMe so maybe it could reach other people who are able to help.

Update: After reviewing the estimate more closely, we realized it only covers the mold removal — not the drywall or room restoration afterward. That work would require hiring another contractor, which adds significantly to the cost.

In an effort to save money, Andrew has decided to fly out and handle the removal himself, which we’re hoping will free up funds to help finish the room properly.

We still need all the help we can get to make this happen. Please feel free to pass it along. It really helps get the word out.
