RESTORE RALEIGH: EMERGENCY HOME RESCUE FOR A LOCAL WIDOW

Every person deserves a safe place to call home.

Today, a lifelong Raleigh resident and widowed senior citizen is living beneath a roof that is failing. Her early-1900s home is currently covered by a tarp as water continues to enter the structure. Each rainfall causes additional damage to the roof, ceilings, insulation, and interior living spaces.

This situation has now reached emergency status.

Water intrusion has damaged multiple interior ceilings and created conditions that may support mold growth and other health hazards. The home requires immediate roof stabilization, structural repairs, mold remediation, ceiling replacement, and restoration of safe living conditions.

The total cost of restoring this home is approximately $35,500.

Our immediate goal is to raise $15,500 to purchase materials and begin emergency repairs before additional damage occurs.

Your support will help provide:

• Emergency roof repairs

• Plywood decking replacement

• New soffits and fascia

• New long-lasting metal roofing

• Removal of water-damaged ceilings

• Mold remediation and treatment

• New drywall ceilings

• Interior finishing and painting

This project is the first mission of Restore Raleigh, an effort dedicated to helping elderly residents remain safely in their homes.

Raleigh, West Virginia was once a thriving mining community. Today, many seniors who spent their lives building this community are struggling with deteriorating homes and limited resources. Many are physically unable to perform repairs themselves and cannot afford the cost of hiring contractors.

As a retired carpenter with over 30 years of experience, I have committed my retirement years to helping these neighbors. After seeing the condition of homes throughout our community, I realized that many elderly residents are living in unsafe conditions through no fault of their own.

We are starting with one widow in urgent need, but our vision extends far beyond a single home. We hope to create a lasting community effort that restores safety, dignity, and hope for elderly residents throughout Raleigh.

Every donation, regardless of size, moves us closer to protecting this homeowner from further damage and restoring a safe living environment.

We will document the entire restoration process with photos, videos, and weekly updates so donors can see exactly how their support is changing lives.

Together, we can prove that Raleigh still takes care of its own.

Thank you for standing with us.
