Black ice has already claimed another victim this year. Fortunately, it was just my car. I was lucky enough to come out unscathed, and no one else was involved in the accident.

All in all I am grateful that the extent of the damage was limited to my vehicle. On the downside, it has taken my car out of commission as the axel broke among other damages.

According to the mechanic, we are currently looking at a $3,100 repair. Between my savings and the help of those near and dear to me, we have been able to collect enough to whittle that down to around $1000. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful to everyone that has been able to assist thus far.

With the end goal in sight, I could use a little help getting that final push to put my car back on the road.
