For over 70 years, the Big Tin Cotton Gin has been the center of things happening in San Tan Valley—a big old metal building that used to hum with cotton during harvest season. Back in the 1950s, it was all about farmers, their families and the hard work that built this part special piece of Arizona.
A decade ago, our family fell in love with this gin, its meaning and history , so we decided to bring it back to life. We turned this historic building into a wedding and event venue where people could come to get married, celebrate, remember, and even reunite with old friends and become a community once again. It has become more than a venue, it’s where so many memories have been created.
The property that the Cotton Gin is currently located on has been recently sold. Our family is currently in the process of trying to relocate the building so that we can continue to enjoy its history, its beauty, and its ambiance for many generations to come. This building does not just represent an old Cotton Gin, it represents an atmosphere where people can gather to grow as a community and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Tearing down and rebuilding a 70-year-old metal building isn’t cheap or easy. We’re doing everything we can to keep its character intact while making sure it’s safe and will withstand the future of its life.
This is why we’re reaching out to our local community. If you’ve ever had a wedding here, celebrated something special, been to an event here or even just smiled when you drove by that big tin building, we’d love your help! We are asking for monetary gifts and/ or special labor skills (and lots of prayers) to help us tear this building down and relocate it. Any amount of time or money makes a difference for this massive project—whether it’s $10 or $100, 100% of proceeds goes towards keeping this piece of local history alive.
Thank you for being a part of the community that makes this place so special. We hope and pray Queen Creek/ San Tan Valley can help us give it a few more chapters.
