Hi, my name is Lucy. I have been working in voluntary work and fund-raising for projects in Uganda for a number of years. I am currently in Uganda spending time with former street youths who share their life and stories with me. There is need amongst them for social change to improve their standards of living. They live in a rehabilitation centre where they have basic food and shelter, some are learning new skills, and some go to school through a sponsorship programme. They have formed a dance group as they are very talented, and work together to produce videos and appear at functions to help themselves and others, but lack some basic needs. They have expressed desire for more instruments to learn and perform with; more clothes and shoes; books and technology needed for studies, and even a bed. I have discussed with them the idea of doing a sponsored 5k run to see if they can raise any money by doing that, as we do so in the UK. We have a planned route to run and plan to do the run on Friday 30th January. If you would like to help them help themselves, please sponsor them and be an encouragement and blessing.
