Help Launch a Floral Shop + Community Hub on Chicago’s South Side

Hi, I’m Tatiana Williams, a devoted mother of three and the founder of Tatis Floral, a Black woman-owned floral business rooted in Auburn Gresham on Chicago’s South Side.

For years, I’ve brought healing and joy through flowers—creating arrangements for schools, churches, funerals, and community events. But this is bigger than flowers.

I’m transforming a long-abandoned building at 1415 W 79th Street into a vibrant community floral hub—a place where beauty, entrepreneurship, and community will bloom together.

What We’re Building

This new space will include:

• A full-service flower shop

• A cozy coffee + coworking café

• Monthly floral workshops and youth programming

• 6 leaseable suites for small businesses and sole proprietors

• A community patio, garden space, and seasonal farmers market

This project is designed for us, by us—to bring life and ownership back to the 79th Street corridor.

We’ve Secured the Grant. Now We Need the Bridge.

The City of Chicago has awarded us a $200,000 reimbursable grant to renovate the space—but to activate the funds, I must raise $150,000 in upfront capital by April 10.

We’ve already received over $50,000 in donated labor, support, and materials from local businesses and community partners. We have approved architectural plans, permits, and momentum. Now we need the last push.
