“See It Through” ~ A Journey with Reggie Duckett

Reginald “Reggie” Duckett, Jr. was born on Valentine’s Day, 1970, in Roanoke, Virginia, to proud parents Reginald Sr. and Carolyn Duckett. He graduated from William Fleming High School and went on to study Accounting at Norfolk State University. After college, Reggie remained in the Hampton Roads area, building a career as a dedicated and detail-driven accountant.

In 1993, Reggie met the love of his life, Holly. The two married in 1999 and built a beautiful family together with their children Zachary (23), Gabrielle (19), and Reggie’s eldest son Xavier (34), who resides in Roanoke.

Reggie is a proud member of The Mount Church in Suffolk, Virginia, where his faith is a guiding force in his life, living out the church's mission of transformation through Christ. He is also a lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., joining the Gamma Xi chapter in Virginia Beach in 2010. Since then, he has served in a variety of roles at different levels and has been the chapter’s Keeper of Finance since 2018. Known by his fraternity brothers as a committed and dependable leader, Reggie consistently steps up to support numerous initiatives and community efforts. His dedication to his family, friends, faith, and fraternity reflects both his strong character and lasting legacy.

If you know Reggie, then you know—he lives by the words of the poem “See It Through.” Throughout his life, he has faced trials with resilience and courage. But now, Reggie is climbing his biggest mountain yet.

In 2011, Reggie lost his beloved mother, Carolyn, to renal failure. Today, he is fighting the same battle. Reggie has been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure (ESRF). He is currently undergoing peritoneal dialysis and is on the transplant list at Sentara, hoping for a life-saving kidney donation. Living with ESRF presents enormous challenges—physically, emotionally, and financially. While Reggie continues to fight with determination, he needs our help to see this through.
