Councilman Williams does not leave his civic engagement just in the political arena, this is evident in his involvement with multiple nonprofit organizations such as the Little Angels Foundation, P.U.L.S.E (People United to Lead a Struggle for Equality). Councilman Williams is very active in the African Methodist Episcopal church having served as Pastor of the Greater New Mt. Zion A.M.E church in Homestead, and currently leading the St. James A.M.E church in Liberty City. He holds positions with the Board of Directors for Saint James Federal Credit Union, Board of Directors for Saint James Community Development Corporation (serves as President), and Board of Directors for Saint James Social and Economic Development Center. Past accomplishment within the A.M.E. church include Trustee of Turner Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA which oversees a budget of $1.4M, Elected Second Vice- President Turner Theological Seminary Alumni Association, Member of the Connectional Council of the A.M.E. Church, Member of Conference Board of Trustees for the South Florida Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Appointed Trustee to the Turner Theological Seminary Academic & Student Affairs Committee -Atlanta, GA, Appointed Trustee of the Turner Theological Seminary Endowment & Investment Committee- Atlanta, GA.
Councilman Williams has been listed in the Chancellor’s List 2004, Cambridge Who’s Who 2007 and 2008, and Biltmore Who’s Who Among Executives & Professionals 2009; and is a self-published author with literary works: “Managing Your Finances”, “New Members, New Believers Manual for the A.M.E. Church” and “Managing Your Money God’s Way”.
Councilman Williams has recently secured over $200,000 dollars of funding for a Sickle Cell Disease
Clinic to be operated in the City of Homestead. This was announced during a press conference on June 19th of this year to commemorate National Sickle Cell Awareness Day. Sickle Cell Awareness and Care Management is a cause that is a priority to Councilman Williams, and he continues to fight for himself and other patients every day.
