Markfield Playground & Garden Redevelopment

We are heartbroken that Markfield’s wonderful accessible adventure playground was partially destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Friday 22nd of May.

Our vital play and respite services for disabled children and families have been put on hold until we can make the playground safe. We are working hard aiming to resume play sessions as soon as possible.

Our playground is used by around 700 disabled and non-disabled children and young people every year – from all over Haringey and beyond. During the covid-19 pandemic we have found creative ways to support the community – we are pioneering ‘socially distanced’ play sessions which have been a lifeline for disabled children and their parents.

We are launching this fund to enable us to rebuild the playground, so it can be reborn as an even more amazing magical place for children and families.

About Markfield

Markfield is an inclusive community hub in Tottenham, Haringey where people can play, socialise, and get information & support. Our charity was created more than 35 years ago by parents of disabled children who wanted to create a space for inclusive play. We provide a diverse range of services for disabled children, young people and adults, as well as their parents, carers and siblings. Our aims are to enable disabled and autistic people to be themselves, take risks and live life to the full.
