Thomas is a black small business owner who started a landscaping business which has provided for his family for almost a decade. He recently invested in his business to purchase new equipment that would allow him to expand his operations and provide more services. Unfortunately, as a result of the recent protests that have turned dangerous and violent, his equipment (new and old), totaling close to $40,000, has been stolen and he’s left putting back the pieces of his business without the cash to replace the stolen materials. The decals of his business’ name were placed on the equipment just 2 days ago.
A message from Thomas:
"All my landscaping equipment was stolen over night. Windows broken, doors kicked in.... everything gone except for the stuff that I had on a job site at my aunt's house . Mini excavator, new trailer, new mower, blowers everything.... even my hand tools .
I was so happy that my production was about to double.
Took me a while to save up for my equipment to secure the plan of my production doubling. To have everything taken... shaking my head, lost a lot in one night. Whoever did this, you just crippled my business. I’m not some huge company that can just shake it off, I’m a little fish trying to survive by busting my ass everyday to give my son a good life."
My heart goes out to Thomas and other black business owners who have been impacted the most due to the bad players in a global effort to make positive change. Please show your support for Thomas and black small business owners by donating to help him replace his equipment and get his business back on its feet. My company, The Gnar Company , will be matching donations up to $1,000.
Thank you for making a difference with your contribution.
