Dear friends, family, and community,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the devastating news that my Grandparents' and father’s childhood home in Altadena was lost in the Eaton Canyon fires. For over 50 years, they have been a pillar of this community, dedicating themselves to supporting local businesses, schools, churches, and preserving the rich history of Altadena’s Black community. My late grandfather, Reverend Tollette, passed away in 2021. His spirit and the legacy of their love and partnership remain deeply woven into the fabric of this home and the memories it held.

My grandmother is one of the most selfless people I know—always giving, always loving, and never asking for anything in return. She has spent decades uplifting others, yet now along with the rest of the community, she finds herself having to recover from this catastrophic event. Along with her home, she lost 60 years of cherished family memories, heirlooms, and irreplaceable treasures that told the story of our family’s journey.

We are heartbroken but determined to help her restore her life and her home, which was not just a house but a sanctuary for family, friends, and neighbors alike. We are raising funds to assist with the costs of replacing essentials, and giving her the stability she deserves as she navigates this challenging time.
