The Heirloom Hotel and Cooking School is a brand new business in downtown Laurel, Mississippi. The original building was built to be a Kress Department Store, serving the town for many years before standing empty and sad for 40 years. It was brought back to life by three dedicated individuals who invested their time, talent, and finances to restore it. This renovation transformed the space into a three-story downtown hotel and cooking school, marking a new chapter for the historic building. Their journey was featured as a spinoff show from Hometown on HGTV, sharing the triumphs and tribulations of creation and renovation with viewers across the country.

Just weeks after the restoration was completed, a fire broke out and gutted the building, undoing all the hard work and dreams that had been poured into it. Many people, including myself, watched the final episode on May 31 and were devastated to see the destruction. My heart broke for the owners, who had worked so hard to make this dream come true.

The funds raised through this campaign will help the owners fill gaps in the renovation process, whether for construction, replacing lost items, or supporting the restoration efforts. The money will be used wherever it is needed most to help rebuild and restore The Heirloom Hotel and Cooking School.
