Update: 12/01/26
First and foremost, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through donations, messages, and kind words. Your generosity and encouragement have meant more to us than we can ever express.
We would also like to clarify that the Eel Skinners and Duck Pluckers BNS Ball is a non-for-profit community event organisation. 100% of all donations raised through this GoFundMe will go directly back into rebuilding the Carranballac Recreation Reserve.
We are now working closely with the council and the CFA to begin the process of clearing the site. As you can imagine, this is a huge and complex job, with many trees deemed unsafe and requiring careful planning for their removal. While this stage may take some time, it is an essential and important step forward.
We are really looking forward to getting started on the rebuild and moving ahead, and we truly couldn’t do this without your continued support. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
Our heart and our home have been lost.
The recent bushfire has completely destroyed the Carranballac Recreation Reserve a place that for generations has been the centre of our small but proud community. This reserve is more than grass and buildings. It is where friendships were formed, kids learned to play sport, volunteers gave their time, community events were held, and proud traditions were kept alive.
The reserve is the home of:
- Carranballac Cricket Club
- Carranballac Progress Society
- Eel Skinners & Duck Pluckers BNS Ball
- HarvFest Ball
Now, it’s gone.
Clubrooms, facilities, equipment, memorabilia, and the meeting place that brought us all together have been destroyed. Without help, rebuilding will be a long and difficult road for a small rural community.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
Rebuilding clubrooms and community facilities
Restoring the reserve so it can once again host games, events, and gatherings
Giving our kids, volunteers, and community a place to come back to.
This reserve has always been built on volunteer effort, community spirit, and local pride. Now we’re asking for help to bring it back stronger and better for future generations.
