Help Rebuild the Barnes Farmstead
Donation protected
On July 9th, a devastating truck fire swept through the Barnes Farmstead, destroying seven acres of farmland, gardens, and pasture that Jamie and Zach Barnes had lovingly built over the past two years. Known for their award-winning produce, homemade jams, preserves, soaps, floral arrangements, and unique mean greens powder, the couple had become a cornerstone of their community. Their farm was not just a business, but a place where neighbors found fresh eggs, seeds, and a welcoming spirit. Jamie and Zach’s dedication earned them county fair awards and the trust of countless families who relied on their seasonal goods.
The fire took nearly everything in a matter of hours. While local firefighters managed to save their home and many animals, the loss was immense. In the aftermath, they faced the heartbreak of saying goodbye to their beloved dog Gator, who was injured and had to be euthanized. Tot, Gator’s companion, as since been found, but still missing are several feral cats that helped keep the farm thriving. The couple is now left with urgent needs: covering emergency vet bills, repairing their porch and well, and replacing essential farm equipment and supplies that were lost or damaged.
Jamie and Zach are holding on with the support of friends and family, but the road ahead is daunting. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, but distance makes it hard for many to help in person. Every contribution will help them rebuild the farmstead, care for their remaining animals, and restore the heart of a community that has come to depend on them. Your support means everything as they work to recover from this tragedy and begin again.
