Help Rebuild Our Family’s Home in Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa.
When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, my husband’s father and aunt — who live together in Savannah-la-Mar, Westmoreland Parish — lost nearly everything. Their homes were completely flattened into piles of rubble, and most of their belongings were blown away. What little remains is severely water-damaged and unlivable.
My father-in-law and aunt have no close family nearby on the island. They’ve always cared for one another, and now they’re doing their best to stay strong despite losing the home they built with their own hands.
Our family here in the United States — myself, my husband (his father’s only child), and our children — are doing everything we can to help from afar. But rebuilding from the ground up will take far more than we can provide alone.
We’re raising $10,000 USD to help them:
- Rebuild their home safely from the ground up.
- Purchase essential building materials and hire local contractors.
- Replace basic furniture, appliances, clothing, and food.
- Restore some sense of normalcy and dignity after total loss.
Every dollar will go directly toward rebuilding their lives. Even the smallest contribution — or simply sharing this page — will make a huge difference in helping them start over.
Please help us bring hope back to Savannah-la-Mar and rebuild what Hurricane Melissa took away. From our family to yours, thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your generosity. ❤️
(Updates and photos of the rebuilding progress will be added here so that you see the impact of your contributions.)
