On January 3rd, my mom experienced a devastating loss when her home, which she had lived in since 1986, was destroyed in a tragic fire. The structure could not be saved, and in a matter of hours, she lost not only her house but also the belongings and memories built over decades. Our biggest loss, however, was my mom's 3-year-old chocolate lab named Bailey. Bailey was a playful, lovable friend who would stand on two legs to hug our family every day and could not get enough time chasing after her tennis balls or playing with her Bow Tree Dog friends. The shock and heartbreak have been overwhelming, but the outpouring of support from our community has been a true source of comfort. It is our community's desire to help that encouraged us to create this GoFundMe page.
In the immediate aftermath, our focus is on helping my mom replace the essentials she needs to get by day-to-day. As we look ahead, we know that rebuilding a new home will be a long and challenging journey. Every contribution will go directly toward helping her recover, find stability, and eventually rebuild what was lost. Your support will make a real difference as we navigate this difficult time together. The Malcolm family appreciates the love, support, and kindness shown by friends, neighbors, and first responders. We are forever grateful to those who brought blankets, offered shelter, and reached out with words of encouragement. This page was created to make it easier for anyone who wants to help our family as we start to rebuild. Thank you for your generosity and for standing with us when we need it most.
