Help Us Rebuild Pleasant Grove MB Church – A Place of Faith, Love, and Community
Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,
On March 11th, we were reminded that the Church is not just a building—it’s the people, the faith, and the love we share. While we are heartbroken by the loss of our beloved church building, we are filled with gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, support, and encouragement from all of you. This is not the end of our story—it is the beginning of a new chapter.
A 126-Year Legacy of Faith and Service
For 126 years, Pleasant Grove MB Church has been a beacon of hope, love, and community. Through joy and sorrow, our church has stood strong as a place where generations have gathered to worship, serve, and support one another. Countless milestones, baptisms, weddings, and celebrations have taken place within these walls, and God’s love and word has been shared here for over a century.
A Journey of Resilience
In 2020, we completed a long-awaited renovation of our sanctuary, excited to worship in a newly remodeled space. However, we later discovered that the building had been constructed with inadequate structural support. Despite our continuous efforts to obtain a reliable contractor, that endeavor proved to be unsuccessful due to concerns over safety liability. Consequently, the insurance would not cover the costs of an unsafe, inadequate structure. Earlier this year, after learning of the full extent of the issues, we made the difficult decision to temporarily relocate our services to Pearl Parks and Recreation Center for safety.
A Heartbreaking Loss, But a Hopeful Future
On March 11th, our church building collapsed. While this is devastating, we are thankful that no one was inside and that everyone is safe. The outpouring of love and support has been a blessing, reminding us that we are not alone.
The Road Ahead: Rebuilding with Faith
With God’s provision and grace, we will rebuild. The road ahead will be challenging, but we believe, with the strength of our church family and community, we will restore not just a physical building but a place where future generations can worship, grow, and serve.
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
