My name is Brianna Wilson, and I’m originally from Christiana, Manchester, Jamaica, though I now live in Washington, D.C. Like so many others, I’ve been heartbroken watching the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, which has left parts of Jamaica in ruins.
Homes, farms, and small businesses have been destroyed. Many families have lost their livelihoods, and rebuilding will take time, resources, and community support.
This GoFundMe has been created to provide direct assistance to those in need in my home region of North East Manchester.
The funds raised will go toward:
Helping families repair and rebuild their homes
Providing food and other essential supplies
Supporting local farmers and small business owners as they work to restart their operations
Every dollar raised will be used to support the people of North East Manchester as they rebuild their lives and their community.
Even though I’m far from home, my heart is with Jamaica, and I want to do whatever I can to help those affected. Your support — whether through donations or by sharing this campaign — will make a real difference.
Thank you for standing with us and helping North East Manchester recover and rebuild.
